Step 1: Download & Install

Download from Microsoft Store
Visit the Microsoft Store and click "Get" to download FilesDesk.

Install the Application
The installation is automatic. Once complete, FilesDesk will appear in your Start menu.

Launch FilesDesk
Open FilesDesk from your Start menu or desktop shortcut.
Step 2: Choose Your AI Mode

FilesDesk AI (Managed - Easiest)
Sign up for a subscription plan. Credits are included - no API keys needed. Go to Settings and select "FilesDesk AI" as your AI model.

Self-Managed (BYOK)
Purchase the lifetime license. Add your own API keys from OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or OpenRouter in Settings.

Local AI with Ollama (Free)
Install Ollama, download a vision model, and configure FilesDesk to use it. 100% offline!
Step 3: Rename Your First Files

Add Files
Drag and drop files into FilesDesk, or click "Add Files" to browse your computer.

Select a Template
Choose from built-in templates like Invoice, Photo Archive, or create your own custom naming pattern.

Preview & Apply
Review the suggested names in the preview. Click "Rename" to apply the changes.

Subscription ($5-$15/month): We provide the AI infrastructure with credit-based pricing. No API key management needed.
Self-Managed licenses are bound to a single device. If you upgrade your computer, contact support for license transfer.
Privacy & Security
Self-Managed License: NO. Your files never leave your device.
Subscription: Files are sent for processing but NOT stored. They are deleted immediately after processing.
API keys are stored using Windows Credential Manager - encrypted by Windows OS, never transmitted to FilesDesk servers.
